About the Role:

The Facilities Specialist is a hands-on position that directs care and maintenance activities for the Credit Union's facilities by participating in, analyzing, planning, organizing and managing the functions related to building maintenance, equipment maintenance, space planning, fixed assets and safety/security.

 

Scheduled Weekly Hours:

40 hours per week; Monday – Friday; 8am – 5pm

 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Promotes and maintains a positive image of the Credit Union at all times to personnel, members, vendors and the community. As the primary contact for physical locations, this position interacts with local property and business owners, government officials, and public service agencies. These interactions have a direct reflection on Bay Federal Credit Union. Interactions will be conducted with the utmost integrity, professionalism, and should leave individuals with a positive reflection of Bay Federal.
  • Ensures locations are clean, organized, and safe; resolve concerns quickly. Take pride and ownership in Credit Union appearance to internal and external members.
  • Ensures the security and safety of staff, members, and visitors on Credit Union premises as required by law, regulations, and prudent business practices. Serves as a liaison to public utility, safety and governmental agencies. Ensures that locations adhere to safety standards and regulations. Ensure security equipment (alarms, cameras, and access control) are working properly and audited regularly.
  • Manage incoming support tickets as assigned. Respond to employee inquiries. Ensure timely and quality service delivery to employees. Provide excellent service to internal and external customers by finding a way to say yes. Accomplish tasks by finding creative solutions to a multitude of issues ensuring successful results.
  • Performs routine and preventative maintenance for Credit Union locations. Act as 1st line support for routine maintenance. Escalate to Facilities Specialist II for 2nd line support. Directs maintenance personnel, vendors and workers engaged in complex equipment installation, equipment repair and preventive maintenance.
  • Assists in the coordination of building space allocation, layout, and communication services. Assists users in planning moves and installations ensuring a coordinated, effective, and successful outcome.
  • Assists Facilities Assistant Manager on Credit Union tenant improvement and branch expansion projects. Assists in overseeing the project site, representing the Credit Union in city/county permitting activities, and works with various contractors to ensure the project meets the negotiated budget and timeline. Assist Facilities Specialist II in fulfilling Facilities projects.
  • Review and analyze facilities related contracts to ensure optimum functionality; identify, assess, negotiate as necessary and resolves building maintenance and usage problems. Assist with selection of new/replacement vendors, obtaining multiple bids, verifying insurance, W9, and professional licenses.
  • Audit and process vendor invoices for goods received and services provided in a timely manner.

 

You’re Perfect For This Role If You Have:

  • Valid California driver’s license and insurance with reliable transportation.
  • General customer service experience. 
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems is preferred.
  • One year of facilities experience is preferred.
  • One year of experience working in an alarm-secured operations environment, with banking or credit union experience is preferred.

Bay Federal Credit Union is proud to offer a competitive, robust compensation and benefits package.  Bay Federal considers many factors in determining base pay such as experience, education/training, internal peer equity, job location, and other business considerations when extending an offer. For Santa Cruz, CA only, the pay scale Bay Federal reasonably expects to pay for this position is $23 - $29 per hour. Salaries are based on the geographic location in which you live if working remotely.

Bay Federal provides health care benefits, life and disability insurance, paid holidays and 401k with a company match to eligible employees; along with employee paid voluntary benefits. Paid time off is accrued per paycheck for eligible employees at a rate based on your tenure. Leaves of absences are available in adherence with state and federal regulations.
