Job Duties:
- Provide friendly and knowledgeable assistance to customers in booking lessons and reserving court times. Assistance members with towels, additional balls and any other reasonable request.
- Ring up sales accurately using the point-of-sale (POS) system, Member charge and credit card transactions
- Receive, organize, and restock merchandise deliveries, monitor inventory levels, conduct regular stock checks, and communicate with management regarding replenishment needs.
- Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the pro shop area, including display racks, shelves, and storage spaces, and ensure that all equipment is properly organized and well-presented as well as maintain the cleanliness of the racquet's grounds. Assist Director of Racquets and Pickleball coordinator to get the facility ready in the morning and/or prepared for close at night.
- Stay informed about the latest trends, technologies, and innovations in racquet sports equipment and apparel, and effectively communicate product features and benefits to customers.
- Build rapport with customers by actively listening to their needs, offering personalized recommendations, and providing expert advice on equipment selection, maintenance, and usage.
- Assist in the implementation of promotional campaigns, sales events, and product demonstrations to drive customer engagement, increase sales, and promote brand awareness.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including proper handling of equipment, maintenance of a clean work environment, and compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned
- High School diploma preferred
- 2-3 years competitive playing experience and/or tennis supervisory experience
- Must have the ability to lift up to 30 lbs. as required
- Flexibility to work weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Facility hours of operation are Sunday-Saturday 9am –8 pm.
- Previous retail experience, preferably in a sports or specialty store environment.
- Knowledge and passion for racquet sports, including tennis, pickleball and paddleball.
- Experience with racquet stringing and customization is highly desirable.
- Strong customer service and communication skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic math skills and proficiency in using point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization.
