Title: English Language Paraprofessional
Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent; Bilingual
PERFORMANCE DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Curriculum/Instructional Tasks:
- Assists students with English Language
- Assists teachers with the delivery of instruction, career, and/or developmental tasks, including, but not limited to, one on-one tutoring,organizing instructional and other material, assisting in computer labs, and parental involvement activities as needed.
- Works with the teacher to implement individual student plans as needed.
- Works closely with the teachers, administrators,or other professionals to provide instructional assistance as planned or coordinated by the teacher or administrator.
- Utilizes computers, adaptive equipment, and technology to assist students in accessing their educational programs.
- Checks students' work when subjective evaluation is not needed.
- Translates, meets, and interprets for parents as a school liaison.
Behavioral Assistance:
- Provides assistance in the learning area in dealing with behavioral problems per approved procedures
- Assists with the implementation of behavioral support plans.
- Responds to requests for intervention under the direction of certified personnel.
