Bay Human Services is looking for a motivated person to work as a Home Supervisor/Manager of an Adult Foster Care home with six individuals. This program has medical needs such as seizure disorder and diabetes. In this position, you will provide companionship as well as support for individuals with developmental and/or physical disabilities. The interested person should have strong leadership and teaching skills as well as be able to direct staff effectively. The Manager supervises and monitors all staff while serving as a role model.

Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Experience necessary
- Valid Driver's license with a clear driving record
- Able to pass criminal background check
- Strong leadership skills
- Possess genuine concern for and ability to work with individuals with developmental disabilities and mental illness.
- Ability to communicate with empathy and establish and maintain supportive relationships which promote freedom and choice.
- Excellent organizational, communication, computer, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Job Summary/Objective:
The Home Manager is responsible for the daily operation of the home. The three major areas of responsibility are: Person Centered Active Support, Facility Management, and Staff Management.
Essential Duties and Functions:
Person Centered Active Support:
- Serve as an advocate for persons served.
- Assist person’s served in obtaining Medical care, attending psychological, social and personal appointments.
- Manage person served accounts as needed. Complete any required paperwork for eligible benefits.
- Assure accurate documentation of all person served services along with proper completion of all needed assessments and consents.
- Maintain a positive professional relationship with family members, guardians, Support Coordinators, school or work place staff, medical support persons, or other community individuals involved.
Facility Management:
- Coordinate, manage and monitor all functions of the home.
- Assure environmental safety, including availability and updating of MSDS sheets and MIOSHA regulations.
- Maintain compliance with all Department of Community Health, Department of Human Services, State of Michigan Fire Safety standards and regulations.
- Manage funds and maintain required records, including home debit card accounts, person served EBT accounts, person served personal spending accounts. Ensure all needed shopping is completed each week.
- Assure home is clean and organized. Monitor daily/monthly cleaning duties.
- Maintain emergency preparedness through in-services and drills. Assure all needed drills are completed and documented.
Staff Management:
- Coordinate and monitor all work-related activities and functions.
- Serve as a role model for staff, always encouraging and directing people in a person centered manner.
- The Home Manager is solely responsible for making the final decision to recommend the hiring of Direct Support Professionals.
- Continuously monitor staff performance, complete all necessary staff evaluations, make recommendations to Regional Manager regarding staffing needs or concerns.
- Responsible for scheduling of staff, schedules should be available to staff in a timely manner.
- Conduct staff meetings monthly.
- Attend training as arranged by Bay Human Services.
- Maintain personnel records as required by the Department of Human Services.
- Maintain records of all staff work hours.
- Issue disciplinary action to staff per Bay Human Services policies and procedures.
Travel:
- Daily travel to and from appointments, activities, and errands may be required in a company vehicle.
Essential Job Functions - Physical Requirements:
- Ability to meet physical demands of the job including stooping, bending, turning, stretching, lifting, assisting residents, making beds, and moving equipment.
- Must accept risk of working in a group setting where employees are exposed to communicable diseases and occasional combativeness.
- Ability to work in an environment that generates ongoing noise from individual(s), audio devices, equipment, etc.
