Job Summary/Objective:
The Regional Manager provides direct supervision and leadership to home/program managers, provides coaching, maintains regular contact including attending staff meetings, reviewing placements and inspecting premises. The Regional Manager is responsible for all Bay Human Services programs operating in their assigned region.
Essential Duties and Functions:
- Oversee hiring and personnel practices in the region, including conflict resolution and adhering to policies and practices of BHS.
- Actively coach the team with guidance and support to help achieve strategic and operational goals.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training, staffing/workplace planning, scheduling, assigning and directing work, evaluating performance, recognizing and rewarding, disciplining, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Participate in contract negotiations.
- Monitor program budgets. Make recommendations on fiscal needs/concerns. Assure program operation and expenditures are within budget guidelines.
- Participate in marketing efforts for the region including developing and maintaining marketing materials and initiating marketing contacts. Coordinate marketing activities with BHS administration.
- Attend/participate in conferences/training sponsored by Community Mental Health and others affiliates of BHS.
- Assure records and files are current and consistent with licensing rules, contract requirements, and BHS policy and procedures.
- Conduct and document quarterly meetings with all managers.
- Conduct quarterly review of programs including review of personnel, client, and home records along with a review of consumer funds and forward report to the Director of Residential Services.
- Monitor and investigate all unusual incidents reports. Complete investigation reports for injuries reported by employees.
- Respond immediately to any possible abuse or neglect of any person served and report action to the Residential Services Director.
- Receive crisis and emergency calls after work hours.
- Advocate for persons served when needed.
- Required to be on call after normal business hours unless other arrangements have been made. A call log is required for all time spent responding to staff and consumer concerns and must be turned in each pay for time reimbursement.
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Five years of experience working with persons diagnosed with developmental disabilities and/or mental illness.
- Two years of experience supervising a team.
- Two years of experience in a similar leadership role with primary management focus on the administration of healthcare.
- Knowledge and skills in program development, evaluation and continuous quality improvement.
- Excellent organizational, communication, computer, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Self-directed and resourceful.
- Valid driver’s license.
Travel:
- Daily travel may be required.
Physical Requirements:
- Professional office environment that generates noise from computer equipment/peripherals.
- Possible exposure to health risks (violence and infectious diseases).
- Sometimes lifts, carries, or moves objects up to 25 lbs.
- May be required to work variable hours/shifts.
