Bay Line Construction is seeking to fill the position of . Our main service territory is DE, MD and VA, but this position will be required to travel as needed.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

· Candidates will assist Substation Crew Members with new construction and repair/perform maintenance for electrical high and low voltage substations.

· This includes trenching, installing conduit, pulling cable, wiring of outdoor electrical equipment, installing ground grids, installing foundations, pouring/finishing concrete, setting steel structures, installing buswork and conductors, setting and adjusting switches, installing circuit breakers, and other required substation construction and maintenance tasks.

· Operate aerial lifts, forklifts, skid steers, backhoes, excavators, boom trucks, and other equipment used in the construction of electrical substations.

· Must know and understand state and local laws, DOT, and OSHA standards

· Perform services in a safe and timely manner.

· Maintain company equipment in a safe and efficient manner

· Excavates to assist in the installation of structures or cables as required by contract specification.

· Assists with assembling material on the ground to be installed by Technician and assists with the installation.

· Works from the ground and clears all work areas to maintain safe job site conditions.

· Participates in company training of all regional safety guidelines and is required to perform all work by the regional safety policies.

· Operates various tools for the work (manual digging devices, wrenches, hammers, drills, come-along, jackhammer, power tamp, and handling, etc.).

· Works around excessive noise from machines, jackhammers, saws, and other equipment with proper hearing protection.

· Works around hazardous and near energized parts or equipment.

· All other duties as required or requested by Supervisors.

Requirements:

· Clean Driving Record Required

· Class A Commercial Driver's License Required within 3 months of employment

· Effective communication skills

· Be able to lift/move 50 pound

· Pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check

· Must be 21 years of age or older.

Education and Experience:

· High School Diploma or GED.

· Able to work with hands above head for extended periods of time.

· Able to follow directions, work safely & productively

· Able to work long hours and overtime during holidays, emergencies, weekends, etc. Subject to call-out work.

Travel Requirements:

• Must be willing to travel out of state for routine and emergency work as needed.

Physical Requirements:

• RARE (up to 10%): sitting, crawling

• OCCASIONAL (up to 33%): stooping, kneeling, squatting, body twisting, sense of touch, climbing, reading, pushing, balancing.

• FREQUENT (up to 66 %): walking, manual dexterity, seeing distant, climbing on/off truck, gripping, lifting over 10 lbs. to 50 lbs., reaching, range of motion, depth perception, lifting, carrying, pulling, climbing ladders, climbing stairs, lifting up to 50 lbs.

• CONTINUOUS (up to 100%): standing, speaking clearly, seeing, hearing-speech range, color vision, lifting up to 10 lbs.
