What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cart Attendant position at BAY MILLS GAMING AUTHORITY?
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the golf management staff, the position assists in all phases of the outdoor golf operation ensuring excellent customer service, including picking the range.
Employees wishing to transfer to golf course positions will be able to maintain health benefits and anniversary date for leave accruals. However, employees will not be allowed to use vacation time during summer months. At the end of the golf season, employees will be allowed to transfer to other positions, based on availability, or be placed on lay-off. To maintain benefit eligibility, employee must return to full time regular employment at the end of the season.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provides exemplary customer service by “Exceeding Expectations One Opportunity at a Time”.
- Responsible for greeting all guests in a friendly manner and providing guests with the supplies and information necessary for an enjoyable golf round. (Scorecards, pencils, course knowledge)
- Responsible for carrying all golf clubs upon guests arrival in the parking lot and setting the golf clubs up on carts and carrying clubs to guests car following play.
- Responsible for cleaning all guests clubs before and following play.
- Responsible for driving the golf carts safely and constant cleaning of the golf cart fleet.
- Responsible for recharging and storage building organization of the motorized golf cart fleet.
- Responsible for “picking” driving range, washing golf balls and for keeping range clean and free of debris.
- Keeps work areas, hallways and walk-in coolers clean by sweeping and mopping, clean surfaces, and emptying garbage containers.
- Responsible for monitoring the supplies and cleanliness of pro shop rest room facilities.
- Responsible for the cleaning and monitoring of golf club rental sets.
- Responsible for maintaining a clean and neat bag storage facility.
- Responsible for the maintenance of a clean and neat cart storage building and related storage areas.
- Responsible for excellent communication skills with pro shop workers and all golf course, restaurant and resort personnel.
- Responsible for maintaining a neat and clean appearance.
- Responsible for learning and following the daily policies and procedures for Wild Bluff Golf Course and Bay Mills Resort & Casino.
- Must attend all mandatory trainings designated by the Human Resources Department and/or Department Directing.
- Other duties may be assigned within the scope and complexity of this position’s essential functions.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing this job the employee is regularly required to operate a motorized golf cart, in a seated position. The employee must run, walk, push/pull, bend, squat or kneel. The employee frequently must lift and/ or move up to 75 pounds. The employee will regularly spend scheduled work time outdoors and be exposed to various weather conditions. The employee is regularly exposed to marked changes in temperature, humidity and moving machinery of the kitchen.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be at least 14 years of age.
- Previous experience in a similar position preferred.
- Preference will be given to those applicants with prior Wild Bluff experience (within the last 12 months); who ended their previous experience in a positive fashion; i.e. resignation with notice, end of season lay-off or transfer.
- General knowledge of the game of golf helpful.
- Must have at least a “C” average on last report card required.
- Position requires a friendly, smiling individual with a great customer service attitude.
- Must be extremely dependable and be flexible with work assignments.
- Must be able to work mornings, evenings, after school, weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to take direction well.
- Must work well with fellow employees.
- To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each function listed under the essential functions and physical demands categories of this position description.
- Must have an excellent past work record, including attendance.
- Must attend one of two scheduled pre-season staff meetings, determined by the Director of Golf.
