What are the responsibilities and job description for the Retail Supervisor (BayMart) position at Bay Mills Health Center?
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Retail Supervisor II; this position directs day to day operations to ensure that customer service goals are met, inventory levels are controlled and financial bench marks are maintained while adhering to forecasted expense expectations to include payroll objectives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provides exemplary customer service, while being prompt and professional.
- Must maintain the essential functions of a Retail Clerk (see Retail Clerk Position Description).
- Supervises employees engaged in sales work, taking in inventories, reconciling cash with sales receipts, keeping operating records, or preparing daily record of transactions for accountant.
- Utilizing micros point of sale system/computerized register and maintaining accuracy of all tills/drops, while communicating any special circumstances.
- Assists in formulating pricing to merchandise according to requirements for profitability of store operations.
- Meets with sales representatives/vendors and processes invoices for payment.
- Assist in training newly hired employees on departmental procedures.
- Ensures deliveries are checked in properly and placed in proper locations, so that products and displays are in an orderly fashion ensuring exceptional presentation to guests.
- Communicates all issues and suggestions to the Retail Manager and Retail Supervisor II.
- Leads by example, works alongside fellow employees to insure proper presentation and to enforce teamwork.
- Maintains a neat and clean appearance.
- Responsible for learning and following daily policies and procedures for the Bay Mills Business Holdings and the department.
- Must attend all mandatory trainings designated by the Human Resources Department and/or Department Manager, including TIPS and ServSafe.
- Other duties may be assigned within the scope and complexity of this position’s essential functions.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for extended periods of time. The employee must bend, squat, climb, crouch, kneel, and push/pull. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds while frequently lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds. The employee is regularly exposed to dust and cold when working in the freezer and coolers.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have one to two years of Retail Management experience.
- Must have a thorough understanding of finances, item pricing, ordering, receiving, scheduling, maintaining inventories, and state retail reporting requirements.
- Must possess a personable, customer service attitude along with organizational ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Must have general knowledge of computers.
- Must have excellent math skills.
- Must have excellent communication skills.
- Must have excellent problem solving skills.
- Must have an excellent past work history and attendance record.
