What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Worker (Housing) position at BAY MILLS INDIAN COMMUNITY?
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, the Housing Maintenance Worker assists in completion of the daily scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of the department. This position performs any combination of maintain and report of the properties of Bay Mills Housing Authority using various machines, tools and equipment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Maintains building accessibility and appearance by washing windows, picking up papers and trash, emptying trash cans, recycling materials, painting, and maintaining the lawn and surrounding landscape.
2. Assists Maintenance team with work orders and provide basic repairs for all BMHA dwellings and buildings.
3. Assists and completes new projects assigned by the Housing Authority.
4. Uses construction hand and power tools including saws, power washers and generators.
5. Keeps maintenance areas neat and orderly, and reports supply orders to Maintenance Manager.
6. Contributes to team effort which includes manual labor such as under brushing, hauling and clearing brush, digging and shoveling dirt, and removing brush.
7. Responsible for learning and following daily policies and procedures for the Bay Mills Housing Authority.
8. Must attend all mandatory trainings designated by the Human Resources Department and/or Department Directing.
9. Other duties may be assigned within the scope and complexity of this position’s essential functions.
