What are the responsibilities and job description for the BOYS VARSITY BASKETBALL COACH position at Bay Path Regional Vocational Technical High School?
Bay Path RVTHS is seeking a Boys Varsity Basketball Coach for the 2025 - 2026 winter season.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES are associated with coaching a high school varsity boys basketball team and include, but are not limited to, the following:
Organizes sign ups and tryouts in coordination with the Athletic Director.
Distributes and collects medical forms and ensures players have valid physicals.
Holds tryouts and selects the final team roster.
Post list of students/players who make the team.
Assigns player positions.
Plans and runs preseason and regular practices, including drills and game strategies.
Supervises all players during all games practices and until picked up or on the late bus.
Ensures locker rooms are secured before, during, and after practice.
Manages the distribution, collection, and inventory of equipment/uniforms.
Maintains end-of-season inventory and reports missing items to the Athletic Director.
Performs any other duties as assigned by the Principal, Superintendent-Director and/or their designee.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be authorized to work in the United States.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
CPR / First Aid / AED certified or willingness to become certified.
Successful completion of the MIAA Coaches Education Course required.
Successful completion of the NFHS concussion Certification course required.
Compliance of Bay Path’s Coaching Expectations and the Massachusetts’ Anti-Hazing Law required.
Coaches may be required to operate a school van for the purpose of transporting students to and from athletic games and practices
SALARY: Appropriate level on Extra-Curricular compensation scale pursuant to the BPTA CBA. Ranges from $5,782 - $7,381.
