REPORTS TO: Vocational Director
POSITION SUMMARY:
As an educator at Bay Path RVTHS you will be expected to provide rigorous instruction to the diverse population of all students in your classroom. You will be expected to align your teaching to the district and state curriculum; to regularly assess students for learning comprehension and to modify your teaching to ensure that students are learning; to provide a classroom that is conducive to the learning needs of all students, especially students who are learning English and students with disabilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:
Implements a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests and abilities of students.
Coordinates daily instruction with the existing HVAC/R instructional team.
Delivers effective instruction with a strong focus on the Massachusetts Vocational Technical Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Frameworks.
Responsible for effective techniques of classroom management/discipline and behavior reinforcement.
Fulfills department teaming roles such as a mentoring partnership with a professional status colleague.
Participates effectively in school-wide task forces and academic-vocational integration activities.
Performs any other duties as assigned by the Superintendent and/or their designee.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience in the area of Bilingual/Bi-cultural education preferred.
Must be authorized to work in the United States.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Massachusetts Chapter 74 Professional Licensure in Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration or be eligible to attain a preliminary vocational technical teacher licensure/waiver.
SEI Endorsement or ability to achieve SEI endorsement within one year of hire required.
Possession of a current Section 608 EPA certification at the universal level required.
Massachusetts Oil Burner’s Technician License desirable.
Five years of full-time employment experience directly related to the subject area to be taught required.
Experience providing instruction in the areas of Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration preferred.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: The Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Instructor does not supervise any staff at Bay Path.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
This is a 10 month position.
This position is part of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Bay Path Teachers Association and the SWCRVSDC.
SALARY:
Appropriate step on Teacher’s salary schedule pursuant to the BPTA CBA.

Must be able to move around the workshop to demonstrate techniques, operate machinery, or assist students with hands-on work. This can involve standing for long periods of time, bending, lifting, and operating HVAC&R systems and heavy equipment.
HVAC&R Instructors are exposed to varying temperatures and extreme weather conditions, noisy environments, and potential hazards like refrigerants or other chemicals.
Capable of hearing and speaking to understand and exchange information. Speaks clearly so others understand.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.
