REPORTS TO: Director of Special Education
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Director of Special Education, the Special Education Paraprofessional plays a vital role in shaping students’ futures by mentoring small groups, providing one-on-one support and material review sessions with students, as well as supervising students’ academic work. Responsibilities include providing instructional assistance, classroom support, and implementation of effective classroom strategies under the direction of classroom teachers and/or other school personnel.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma required.
Experience working with special education students in an educational setting is preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of special education needs and strategies preferred.
Passion for supporting student learning and development required.
Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and staff.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive educational environment.
Bilingual skills a plus.
Must be authorized to work in the United States.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
This is a 10 month position.
This position is part of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Bay Path Teachers Association (Paraprofessionals) and the SWCRVSDC.
SALARY: Appropriate step on BPTA (Paraprofessionals) pay schedule pursuant to the BPTA (Paraprofessionals) CBA.
