Job Summary :
Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Retention & Student Success, and in close collaboration with the Director of Retention & Student Success, the Academic Advisor & Success Coach plays a key role in supporting undergraduate students by providing an array of services designed to assist them with successful completion of their degree. By joining an innovation team focused on enhancing recruitment, retention, and degree attainment for its undergraduate students, this individual will facilitate academic success by helping students make informed decisions about achieving their educational goals.
We are seeking an Academic Advisor & Success Coach to join our dedicated team at the Center for Student Success & Advising. The Academic Advisor & Success Coach will provide comprehensive support services to students. These support services may include providing information to students on transitioning to college learning; degree requirements; academic policies and procedures specific to the student's discipline; graduation requirements; guidance on decisions about fields of study, course selection, academic and administrative procedures, policies and services; assistance with setting attainable academic and career goals; monitor academic progress of students; administer on-going outreach and communication with students; facilitate learning communities and assist with other activities to enhance the student experience such as orientations, tutoring services, disability accommodations.
Key Responsibilities : The Academic Advisor & Success Coach's primary responsibility is to inform and guide students to stay on track from enrollment to graduation. The Academic Advisor & Success Coach will serve as students' main point of contact and guide them to achieve academic, personal, and career success. Academic Advisor & Success Coaches will assist students' in developing an electronic Learning Plan, and will engage in consistent communication with the student especially at key junctures in their academic journey. Academic Advisor & Success Coaches will help to foster inclusivity and create group identity through social networking and participation in Pathway-related, co-curricular activities.
