The Academic Coach will be responsible for providing supplemental instruction and tutoring to students who need additional math help in non-math courses. This includes developing mathematics modules to embed in non-math courses, contacting and scheduling regular coaching sessions with assigned students, and maintaining accurate student information.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with faculty members to develop supplemental instruction or modules
- Work with minimum supervision to meet the needs of students
- Able to accept a flexible work schedule that includes evenings or other alternate scheduling as needed
- Committed to a culture of diversity and respect, demonstrated ability to build working relationships with people having a wide variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences different one's own
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Mathematics
- Demonstrated ability to work with struggling or at-risk learners
- Working knowledge of MyMathLab software program
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and in accordance with HIPPA and FERPA
