Bay Path University seeks a dynamic, creative, and engaging program leader to serve and oversee the Genetic Counseling program. We seek a collaborative leader who has an established track record for high-quality curricular development at the university level and who is interested in preparing genetic counselors for 21st-century careers. The successful candidate will have a unique and exciting mandate and work with faculty to nurture the University's offerings to attain enhanced student achievement and external recognition. An appreciation for an integrated, interdisciplinary approach to learning is especially desired. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to use creative and innovative approaches to academic program development.
The Genetic Counseling Program Director serves as the Chief Administrative Officer and leads the Genetic Counseling (GC) Program. The Program Director will manage the program, be knowledgeable of and responsible for the accreditation process with the Accreditation Council for Genetic Counselors (ACGC), and be primarily responsible for the program's organization, administration, fiscal budget, continuous review and analysis of planning, assessment, and development. The Program Director supervises the program faculty and staff in all program-related activities.
The Program Director will lead the development and execution of the strategy to maintain the current programming and identify, evaluate, and launch new opportunities at Bay Path University.
The Program Director will have teaching responsibilities in this program, and specific courses will be defined on the annual workload form. This person must be available to teach in all three semesters and teach a maximum of eighteen (18) of the twenty-four (24) credits annually, which reflects a six (6) credit release for administrative duties.
This is a non-tenure position, reporting to the Dean of the School of Health and Natural Sciences (SHNS). This position is instrumental in overseeing the program, faculty, and the education of its students. Although an online program, this remote position's office is located at the East Longmeadow campus and requires occasional in-person attendance.
The scholar selected for this position will join a collaborative and dedicated School emphasizing excellence in education at all levels. S / he will be involved in expanding program offerings, leading school partnerships, and implementing significant new initiatives for cutting-edge preparation. The director will be expected to participate in curriculum development and innovation; teach graduate and possible undergraduate courses, which may include online, hybrid, and weekends; advise graduate students; participate actively in local, state, and national professional organizations; and contribute to the service mission of the University and the School.
