Bay Paws WESLEY CHAPEL is looking for an AGM to start soon at an existing location to transfer to our new Wesley Chapel location, targeted opening date October 1, 2024.
We are seeking an experienced individual to serve as the Assistant General Manager of a luxury pet resort. Past management experience is required. The ideal AGM would have experience working in all aspects of a pet resort (boarding, daycare and front desk) and knowledge of grooming and bathing, or in the alternative have worked in the veterinary field.
The Assistant General Manager (AGM) will assist the General Manager in managing the day-to-day operations of the resort to ensure a first-rate experience for our clients and their pets. The AGM will focus primarily on internal management of staff, including training, scheduling and hiring staff. The primary responsibility is to champion the Bay Paws culture and provide support to our most important asset, our people. The AGM must be skilled at people management by being able to identify high quality candidates to hire, thoroughly train new hires in all aspects of their role and our company’s standards, provide direct and clear feedback to staff to resolve performance issues, and handle all other staffing related duties. In addition, the AGM must have strong customer service and customer management skills to effectively address any client issues.
ABOUT THE RESORT AND COMPANY
Bay Paws is a luxury pet resort company that currently has three locations: Clearwater, Ybor City and Trinity. This position is for the Wesley Chapel location, which will open October 2024. We are growing quickly and are looking for qualified managers who are team players and dedicated to helping us grow into a top tier pet resort brand.
Bay Paws is a local pet resort company who prides itself on the design of its facilities, the friendliness of staff, and the cleanliness of the pet resort at all times. We offer daycare, boarding and grooming at both locations. We are a high volume facility. The AGM would report to the GM as well as the owners and management company.
Pay is salary, not hourly. Pay range of $35,000 - $45,000 depending on experience. The AGM position would come with the following benefits: health care including dental and vision, PTO, continuous training via the Dog Gurus, CPR certification, and more.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
TEAM MANAGEMENT
- Recruit, hire and develop a team focused on providing high quality, dedicated and professional care to pet guests.
- Train, coach, mentor and discipline team members to guarantee the level of knowledge and ability to provide proper services, as well as maintain a safe environment for our guests.
- Regularly review team member performance and lead by example.
- Assist in managing the resort team in proper execution of task schedules and all related duties in order to provide the proper play times, meals, elimination times, and other tasks listed on schedules as it relates to pet guest care and comfort. Make daily decisions based on time and level of services to provide an exceptional pet guest experience.
- Oversee the scheduling of team member tasks to meet the pet guest’s needs, while maintaining efficient labor practices.
- Develop strategic action plans to continuously analyze staffing levels and maintain productive team members.
- Properly manage the resort facilities, providing a high level of cleanliness and maintenance, and schedule essential cleaning duties and upkeep of rooms and equipment to maximize the appearance, availability and use of pet guest suites.
- Train team on identifying potential pet guest or client issues through the reservation and stay process.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, climb, as well as manipulate (lift, carry, move) up to 50 pounds.Duties:
- Assist the General Manager in overseeing daily operations of the hotel
- Manage and coordinate food production and banquet services
- Support the General Manager in managing staff, including training, scheduling, and performance evaluations
- Assist with bartending duties and ensure high-quality service is provided to guests
- Coordinate coffee service and catering for events and meetings
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a similar role as an Assistant General Manager or in hotel management
- Strong knowledge of food production, banquet services, and bartending
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Knowledge of coffee service and catering is a plus
