Job Summary
The DCF Support & Stabilization Clinician provides clinical services to children, youth, and families involved with DCF, focusing on crisis intervention, trauma-informed care, and long-term family stabilization. This role involves direct counseling, safety planning, case management, and collaboration with community resources to ensure positive outcomes for children and families.
What You Will Be Doing to Make a Difference in the Lives of Families..
- Provide clinical assessments, treatment planning, and individual/family therapy for clients referred by DCF.
- Conduct in-home and community-based interventions to support family stabilization.
- Develop and implement crisis intervention strategies to reduce risks and ensure child safety.
- Collaborate with DCF caseworkers, schools, medical professionals, and other service providers to coordinate care.
- Utilize trauma-informed and strengths-based approaches to address behavioral, emotional, and relational challenges.
- Document all client interactions, progress, and treatment plans in accordance with agency and state regulations.
- Advocate for families by connecting them to essential community resources such as housing, mental health services, and educational support.
- Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and supervision to ensure quality service delivery.
- Clinician will participate in an on-call rotation, at times requiring an in-person response
- Driving is required

Requirements
- Conferred Master’s degree in mental health fields such as Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Counseling/Clinical Psychology etc., with plan to obtain license (i.e. LMFT, LICSW, and LMHC).
- Minimum of 1 year experience working in child and family treatment (assessment, treatment planning, outcome measurement)
- Knowledge of DCF regulations, child welfare systems, and family stabilization strategies.
- Experience with trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, and behavioral health treatment.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience with Motivational Interviewing is preferred
