We are looking for a CNC Manufacturing Engineer to join our team on the day shift full-time.
LOCATION: Easthampton, MA (local applicants only)
JOB POSITION: CNC Manufacturing Engineer (Full-time, Day Shift)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- CNC Programming & Setup: Develop and maintain MasterCAM/SolidWorks drawings and models for machined parts and assemblies. Program CNC machines to ensure precision and efficiency in production.
- CNC Setup: Set up and install job tooling on CNC machinery, ensuring proper configurations for part manufacturing. Assist CNC technicians in transitioning jobs, ensuring smooth operations during the changeover.
- Machine Operation: Operate machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, boring machines, and grinders to machine metallic and non-metallic workpieces according to specifications. Verify the conformance of machined workpieces to specifications using gauges, calipers, and micrometers. *Must be familiar with operating 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis machines.
- Process Proving & Optimization: Prove out new processes, optimize existing setups, and troubleshoot any issues with machine operations to ensure accurate and efficient production.
- Machine Maintenance: Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on CNC machinery to ensure continued machine performance. Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain machinery as needed.
- Programming & Documentation: Write and maintain NC programs (NCPLs) for different machining operations, ensuring that all processes are documented correctly. Complete daily maintenance and machine logs, and ensure adherence to safety standards.
- Collaboration: Communicate effectively with operators across shifts to ensure smooth operations. Assist the Quality Control team with inspections and support troubleshooting of any quality issues.
- Training: Provide on-the-job training to new employees and those requiring cross-training, ensuring all personnel have the necessary skills to perform tasks safely and efficiently.
- Workplace Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized work environment. Turn off and lock out equipment when not in use to ensure a safe working environment.
SKILLS / EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience working with CNC machinery is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in MasterCAM and SolidWorks for part programming and design.
- Machining Knowledge: Ability to set up, troubleshoot, and operate CNC equipment, including lathes, milling machines, and grinders. Knowledge of machining methods, tooling, and workpiece materials. Familiar with operating 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis machines. Robotics experience is a plus.
- Blueprint Reading: Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
- Manual Dexterity: Required for operating machinery, performing machine adjustments, and working with computers.
- Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills for resolving CNC machine issues and optimizing processes.
- Learning Ability: Ability to quickly learn new technologies and adapt to new machinery or processes.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, especially for shift handoffs and interdepartmental collaboration.
- Safety and Quality Focus: Commitment to safety protocols and high-quality standards.
