JOB POSITION: Programmer/ Set Up Operator
Setup jobs on CNC machinery and assist CNC Technicians on jobs when transitioning. Develop Master CAM/Solid Works drawings/models of machined parts and assemblies.
Responsible for running production of new parts on facility machinery. Set-up, install and maintain job tooling. Sets up and operates machine tools, such as lathes, milling machines, boring machines, and grinders, to machine metallic and nonmetallic work pieces according to specifications, tooling instructions, and standard charts, applying knowledge of machining methods: Reads blueprint or job order for product specifications, such as dimensions and tolerances, and tooling instructions, such as fixtures, feed rates, cutting speeds, depth of cut, and determines sequence of operations. Selects, positions, and secures tool in tool holder (chuck, collets, or tool post). Positions and secures work piece in holding device, machine table, chuck, centers, or fixtures, using clamps and wrenches. Moves controls to position tool and work piece in relation to each other, and to set specified feeds, speeds, and depth of cut. Sets up fixture or feeding device, starts machine, and turns hand wheel to feed tool to work piece or vice versa, and engages feed. Turns valve handle to direct flow of coolant or cutting oil against tool and work piece. Observes operation of machine and verifies conformance of machined work piece to specifications, using measuring instruments, such as fixed gauges, calipers, and micrometers. Operates bench grinder to deburr work as needed or sharpen tools.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Run production of new parts on BSM machinery.
- Set-up, install, and maintain job tooling.
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on BSM machinery.
- Troubleshoot and repair BSM machinery.
- Write and maintain NCPLs.
- Program NCs.
- Complete daily maintenance and machine logs.
- Communicate with operators from other shifts.
- Maintain and secure work tools.
- Clean and maintain work area.
- Turn off and lock out equipment when not in use.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Provide on-the-job training to new employees and those who require cross training.
SKILLS / EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- A minimum of 8 years of experience working with CNC machinery.
- Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers.
- Can read and interpret Blueprints/ technical drawings.

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
