Overview
Bay Supply & Marketing, a Northern Michigan company, offers a diverse range of custom marketing services, including promotional marketing, apparel decoration, large-format printing, and custom flag/banner manufacturing. We are looking for an enthusiastic, organized, and communicative individual to join our team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Embroidery Responsibilities
- Setup and program embroidery machine as shown on work order.
- Ensuring that all projects are completed accurately and to clients' specifications, ensuring that all orders are sent out in a timely manner.
- Setting up embroidery machines, hooping, thread, and loading material to complete the job in a timely manner.
- Understanding machine to perform minor troubleshooting.
- Performing regular daily/weekly/monthly maintenance duties to keep machine in working order.
- Providing creative advice to Bay Supply & Marketing customer service and sales.
- Selecting the thread, fabric, hoops, and designs appropriate for each project.
- Trimming of completed garments.
- Ability to work with small objects: i.e. needles and threads.
- Understanding of instructional manuals to ensure smooth troubleshooting and repair processes.
- Working with tech or support on more advanced issues.
- Providing suggestions regarding the design, placement, fabric, and thread selection.
- Keeping track of multiple work orders and updating records.
- Helping out in other areas when needed and when time allows.
- Working all time required during busy season to complete jobs on time for customers.
- Other duties as needed to meet customer’s expectations.
- Continuous standing and walking for 8 hours a day, along with repetitive movements involving hands, wrists, arms, and shoulders, including frequent reaching below, above, and at shoulder level.
- Keeping machine and work area clean.
Manager Responsibilities
- Meeting with owner on a daily basis to review projects.
- Initial point of contact for technical questions or work issues and escalating to owner as needed.
- Work with the owner on continuous suggestions and provide feedback for beneficial improvements to workflow, organization, and other ideas.
- Monitor productivity for others to ensure productivity goals for all other embroiders are met.
- Provide additional assistance in quality production of embroidered garments.
- Assist with training, attend training as needed, and other professional learning.
- Listen attentively and assist in resolving team member concerns to foster a culture of mutual respect, teamwork, and collaboration.
- Monitor and implement all protocols and procedures.
- Assist the owner to effectively communicate work schedules, assignments, and expectations to team members.
- Experience in supervising and leading others in a production setting.
SKILLS DESIRED:
- High school diploma.
- Experience on a Multi-Head Embroidery Machine, Tajima brand is a bonus.
- Digital art background working with vectors, rasters, or digitizing is a bonus.
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- The ability to read and understand instructional manuals.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in business or a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience working in a production facility and embroidery machines; experience working with Tajima embroidery machines is advantageous.
- Excellent verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to take direction and work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
