Job Title: Engineering Planning Support Specialist – GEOXO Program
Location: Highlands Ranch, Colorado (Quebec Building)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Engineering Planning Support Specialist to provide in-depth support for the GEOXO program through the Preliminary Design Review (PDR) and Critical Design Review (CDR) phases. The successful candidate will develop and maintain engineering release plans, ensure schedule compliance with industry best practices, and facilitate collaboration across Integrated Product Teams (IPTs). This role is based on-site in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, and requires in-person support four days a week.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Engineering Release Plan Development and Scheduling:
- Develop and manage detailed engineering release plans and supplemental schedules using Microsoft Project Server.
- Create "what if" scenarios and risk mitigation models to ensure flexibility and adaptability within schedules.
2. Schedule Maintenance and Compliance:
- Maintain schedules with accurate date, % complete, and % work complete updates on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
- Ensure schedules comply with Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) best practices.
3. Schedule Status and Communication:
- Support daily, weekly, and monthly schedule status meetings with IPT leads, engineers, and Control Account Managers (CAMs).
- Communicate schedule updates and changes to downstream consumers, following the Advanced Product Structure (APS) process and Demand Management Process throughout the program lifecycle.
4. Integration and Vertical Traceability:
- Facilitate schedule merge meetings between Engineering Planning and Program Planning.
- Ensure vertical traceability of schedules to the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS).
- Provide Quantifiable Backup Data (QBD) to support IPTs, CAMs, and Program Planning.
5. Engineering Metrics and Dashboard Reporting:
- Generate and report weekly engineering health metrics, such as engineering burndowns, late starts/finishes, and forecast accuracy, via the SWORD dashboard.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Project Server and schedule management tools.
- Familiarity with DCMA best practices for schedule development and maintenance.
- Experience supporting PDR/CDR phases of aerospace or engineering programs.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on risk mitigation.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work across multidisciplinary teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with SWORD dashboards or similar reporting tools.
- Knowledge of Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and program lifecycle processes.
- Prior experience in engineering planning within aerospace, satellite, or defense industries.
Work Schedule:
This role requires in-person support at the Highlands Ranch, Colorado facility (Quebec Building) four days per week.
