Overview:
Bay Systems Consulting is seeking a LabVIEW Developer to support Lockheed Martin's Orion Program in Denver, CO. This role is ideal for a highly skilled and certified LabVIEW Developer or Architect with a passion for working on cutting-edge aerospace technology that supports NASA’s deep space missions.
About the Orion Program:
The Orion spacecraft is NASA’s next-generation vehicle designed for human space exploration beyond low Earth orbit. It will carry astronauts into deep space, provide emergency abort capability, sustain the crew during space travel, and ensure safe re-entry. Lockheed Martin is the prime contractor for Orion and is currently in the production phase, delivering spacecraft for NASA’s Artemis missions to the Moon and eventually Mars.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain test and measurement applications using NI LabVIEW, LabVIEW FPGA, and LabVIEW Real-Time.
Integrate and interface with test equipment including DAQs, DMMs, relays, power supplies, and switches (both NI and non-NI).
Develop and implement software modules utilizing communication protocols such as VISA, TCP/IP, RS-232, and RS-422.
Work within a multi-disciplinary engineering team to support the Orion program’s software development needs.
Participate in code reviews, bug tracking, version control, and documentation.
Troubleshoot and resolve software/hardware integration issues in real-time systems.
Qualifications:
NI LabVIEW Certified Developer or Certified Architect (required)
Extensive hands-on experience with:
LabVIEW, LabVIEW Real-Time, and LabVIEW FPGA
Data acquisition systems (AI/AO/DIO), instrumentation, and test equipment
Communication protocols: VISA, TCP/IP, RS-232/422
Experience working with Linux operating systems
Familiarity with software tools such as:
Perforce (version control)
Jira (issue tracking)
Collaborator (code reviews)
Preferred Skills:
Experience with Python and/or C/C for additional scripting or application development
Knowledge of software best practices including coding standards, unit testing, and documentation
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and team collaboration skills
Experience in aerospace, defense, or other high-reliability industries is a plus
