Position Summary:
The Residential Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for our custom-designed homes. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction practices, materials, and costs, along with exceptional analytical and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, and project plans to prepare detailed cost estimates.
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and project managers to gather necessary project details.
- Estimate labor, material, equipment, and other project costs.
- Evaluate subcontractor bids and vendor quotes for accuracy and alignment with project requirements.
- Prepare and present detailed reports and proposals for clients and stakeholders.
- Track and update cost estimates as project details evolve.
- Stay informed about industry trends, materials, and best practices to ensure accurate estimates.
- Ensure compliance with local building codes and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Preferred 1 to 5 years of experience with residential construction estimating or a recent college graduate with a degree in business management or analytics.
- Strong knowledge of residential construction methods, materials, and costs.
- Proficiency in construction estimating software (e.g., PlanSwift, BuilderTrend, or similar).
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Professional demeanor, emotional intelligence, and a polished appearance.
- Team-oriented, with a commitment to excellence for clients, colleagues, and the company.
- Capable of safeguarding company interests.
