Bay2Bay Boat Tours has openings for well-qualified individuals who enjoy hosting amazing hands-on experiences for guests of all ages. Tours typically run throughout the day, starting at 9am, until after sunset. Our "run it like you own it" approach gives captains the flexibility to personalize each experience, within the standards established by Bay2Bay Tours. Successful candidates must be willing to fully engage in activities with guests, such as snorkeling and paddle boarding, as needed. We offer weekly bonuses up to $100 per week for taking excellent care of the boats and guests, as well as other opportunities to make extra cash for going above and beyond basic duties.
Responsibilities
- Operate tour boats safely while ensuring passenger comfort and enjoyment.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure mechanical soundness and safety compliance.
- Provide informative commentary and guidance to passengers about the tour route and local attractions.
- Facilitate hands-on activities on and off the boat, which may include snorkeling, paddle boarding, among others.
- Adjust tour routes as needed, in order to meet customer expectations
- Respond to emergencies and implement safety protocols as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the boat and equipment, at the beginning, throughout, and at the end of each workday.
Required Qualifications
- Valid captain's license and certifications for operating tour boats
- Strong leadership to ensure passenger safety & enjoyment
- Basic mechanical knowledge for boat maintenance and operation
- Excellent communication and customer service skills to offer the "highlight of your visit" experience for guests of all ages
- Great attitude for learning new concepts, and for embracing the Bay2Bay Tours' culture & standards
- Attention to detail and punctuality
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in customer service, hospitality, or similar industries
- Bilingual (English and Spanish) not required, but a plus
- Knowledge of local area (Anna Maria Island, Egmont Key, Cortez, Palma Sola Bay, Longboat Key, etc.)
- Knowledge of local and seasonal wildlife
- Flexibility to run tours on short notice
