Job Title: Pathfinders Paraeducator High School Student
Department: Instruction
Education Level and Certification: Currently enrolled in Bayard High School
Reports To: Elementary Principal
Performance Responsibilities and Job Tasks
1. Provide assistance to students during programming.
2. Tutor and/or assist children individually or in small groups to help them master assignments and to reinforce learning concepts presented by teachers.
3. Supervise students in classrooms, halls, cafeterias, school yards, and gymnasiums, or on field trips.
4. Enforce administration policies and rules governing students.
5. Discuss assigned duties with classroom teachers to coordinate instructional efforts.
6. Organize and label materials and display students’ work in a manner appropriate for their eye levels and perceptual skills.
7. Use computers, audio-visual aids, and other equipment and materials to supplement presentations.
8. Attend Pathfinders staff meetings.
9. Prepare lesson materials, bulletin board displays, exhibits, equipment, and demonstrations.
10. Assist in bus loading and unloading.
11. Maintain computers in classrooms and laboratories and assist students with hardware and software use.
12. Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or Principal’s designee.
Working Conditions
1. Inside heated and air-conditioned classroom.
2. Outside for activities with students and student supervision.
3. Exposure to incidents of aggression when working with students with behavioral impairments.
At-Will Position. This position is an “at-will” position and may be terminated, with or without cause, at any time in the sole discretion of the Superintendent or Superintendent’s designee.
