1.0 - Principal - Bayard Rustin High School
To perform in this position successfully, the individual must be able to perform the following:
Primary Responsibilities:
- Promote the West Chester Area School District’s mission and guiding principles to ensure the highest level of student achievement.
- Lead, manage, motivate, and develop a team of teachers and staff focused on generating superior academic performance.
- Evaluate school and grade level performance data to identify, develop, and modify instruction to ensure effective instructional strategies are taking place in the classroom.
- Engage parents and associated stakeholders in school and extracurricular activities to foster support of a community approach to learning and development.
- Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations for academic and operational standards/requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Pennsylvania principal certification.
- Three (3) to five (5) years of successful teaching experience with demonstrated exemplary results.
- Administrative experience preferred.
- Superior knowledge of and experience with implementing effective instructional and behavioral methods for students.
- Proven leadership abilities.
- Dedication to providing a world-class education to students.
- A passion for educational excellence, data-driven instruction, and a personal commitment to accountability for results.
- Excellent integrity and demonstration of good moral character and initiative.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to interface with colleagues, teachers, support staff, parents, and School Board members, among others.
- Advanced skills in current technology, including the ability to coordinate presentations using various types of multimedia.
- The employee in this position could be required as part of his/her duties to engage in activities that can be charged to a Medical Assistance or other state or federal healthcare program. Clearance as provider under such programs by both the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the federal government is therefore an essential qualification for this position.
Salary: As per the Administrators Compensation Plan
