Position Overview
BayCare Medical Group (BMG) is a physician-led multi-specialty medical group seeking an experienced board-certified Interventional Cardiologist to join our growing team at Bartow Regional Medical Center. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and treating patients with heart conditions, performing catheter-based procedures (PCI), and providing comprehensive care for both acute and chronic cardiovascular conditions. The successful candidate will work closely with other members of the regional cardiology team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.
Practice Description:
- Robust outpatient and elective procedure practice.
- Emergent PCI program jointly covered by community cardiology but overall lower volume emergent procedures such as STEMI.
- Newly expanded, full-service office practice location with echo, stress test, remote monitoring.
- Embedded, well-experienced APP with both inpatient and outpatient roles to assist in care and efficiency of the practice.
- Regional BMG partners in general, EP, and interventional cardiology at BayCare Winter Haven Hospital, 15-20 minutes away from Bartow.
- Organization of cardiology services in BayCare Heart and Vascular Institute (HVI) with specific HVI medical and administrative leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess patients' cardiovascular health by conducting physical exams, reviewing medical histories, ordering diagnostic tests (ECGs, echocardiograms, and stress tests), and developing treatment plans.
- Manage and treat patients with cardiovascular conditions such as coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, and valvular heart disease.
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including coronary angiograms, angioplasty, stent placement, and atherectomy.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare providers, including surgeons, nurses, advance practice providers as well as other specialists to deliver coordinated care.
- Provide patient and community education on cardiovascular disease prevention, medication management, and lifestyle modifications.
- Participate in on-call rotations and provide emergency interventions as needed.
- Maintain current knowledge on the latest research, technology, and techniques in interventional cardiology.
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and medical group standards.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
- Completion of an accredited residency program in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Diseases, Interventional Cardiology
- Board certification or eligibility in Interventional Cardiology.
- Current state medical license
- Strong knowledge and experience in managing cardiovascular diseases and interventional cardiology procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
