Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Assist members with financial transactions, including receiving and paying cash and other negotiable instruments.
- Receive and process member financial transactions, such as deposits, withdrawals, and loan payments; sell money orders to members; transfer funds from member accounts as directed.
- Maintain current knowledge on all related policies and procedures, rules, and regulations affecting the teller area, including robbery procedures and Reg CC. Place proper check holds per policy.
- Provide well-versed knowledge on products and services.
- Greet and welcome members in person or by phone in a courteous, professional, and timely manner.
- Offer prompt, accurate, and efficient member transactions.
- Perform various tasks, including typing, filing, computer input, and answering the phone.
- Cross-sell credit union services.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Performance Measurements
- Adhere to the credit union's Check Hold and Check Cashing policies while seeking supervisory assistance when needed and accurately following Reg CC and check holds as written in policy.
- Maintain balance in compliance with the credit union's Teller Difference Policy, based on accumulated totals of all outages over a rolling 12-month period.
- Maintain dependable records of attendance and timeliness and maintain a professional work environment and appearance.
- Maintain knowledge of Symitar to proficiently assist members with financial transactions and new products.
- Provide friendly, professional, personal service to all members and coworkers and troubleshoot to resolve member inquiries in a timely manner.
- Participate fairly in handling ICD calls by answering, assisting members with research or problem resolution, and staying ready.
- Proactively seek opportunities to assist others and take responsibility for developing and maintaining a professional work relationship with all coworkers and managers.
- Actively attend and participate in assigned committee meetings and events.
- Complete quarterly training modules in a timely manner with a passing grade of 90%.
Requirements
- Stand for long periods.
- Count swiftly and accurately.
- Work involves contacts with persons beyond immediate associates regarding routine matters for purposes of giving or obtaining information that may require some discussion. Outside contacts take the form of service to the public (members or vendors) requiring ordinary courtesy in providing assistance and information.
- Operate a ten-key calculator and computer keyboard by touch.
- Attend to detail when dealing with numbers and names.
- A high school education or equivalent is required.
