About the Role:
The Head of Digital Health Technology & Real World Science will be responsible for setting the strategic direction for digital health technologies and real-world data analytics across Bayer's R&D organization. This role will drive the development of capabilities in clinical trial technology, digital biomarkers, and electronic Clinical Outcome Assessments (eCOA). The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in pharmaceutical and medical device development, as well as a strong understanding of regulatory environments and compliance requirements.
Responsibilities:
Establish and manage holistic trend management to identify risks and opportunities in strategically relevant areas
Act as a senior champion for the optimal utilization of digital health technologies and real-world data
Facilitate digital transformation across the pharmaceutical division through inclusion of digital health technology and real-world science
Build and maintain an R&D Center of Excellence providing expertise for digital health technology and real-world science throughout the product life cycle
Requirements:
University degree in MD or equivalent
Strong affinity for real-world analytics, trends, innovation, technology, and digital health technologies
Extensive experience in natural or computational science or adjacent disciplines (e.g., physics, bioinformatics, cheminformatics, computer engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, chemistry, or biology)
Rlevant experience with pharmaceutical and/or medical device development in industry positions
Deep knowledge of pharmaceutical and medical device regulatory environments, especially in the EU and US
Preferred Qualifications:
University degree in M.D. and/or in engineering/science discipline or equivalent
15 years of progressive professional experience in managing digital health or health informatics or real-world analytics at global programs
