Farm Maintenance Technician
The Farm Maintenance Technician will be responsible for maintaining our farmland, facilities, and machinery/equipment used for research plots and production processes, ensuring safety and quality in alignment with applicable procedures. This role requires collaboration with employees across the plant and handling basic activities in IT systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate ability and working knowledge to conduct and complete maintenance on company facilities and equipment across the warehouse, plant, and field.
- Operate various types of farm equipment for pre, post, and in-season land management.
- Maintain an active inventory of parts, supplies, and tools to complete needed repairs and meet availability expectations.
- Coordinate and schedule service/maintenance work for assets on site.
- Conduct and complete maintenance on company facilities and equipment.
- Maintain company facilities and equipment to enhance value, usefulness, and provide a safe working environment.
- Responsible for needs assessment and compliance with hazardous work permits, including Lock out Tag Out (LOTO), line breaking, fall protection, confined space, and atmospheric monitoring.
- Maintain accurate records for all equipment and facility maintenance activities performed.
- Demonstrate knowledge of and adherence to Bayer's HSE Environmental Safety & Health and Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) standards.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (not required)
- Basic knowledge of IT (Internet, Excel, PPT, Word, facilities with systems)
- Ability to obtain appropriate drivers' license for medium to heavy vehicle operation (>10,000 lbs. GCWR) without air brake designation
- Commercial Pesticide Applicators License or ability to obtain license
- Able to lift, push, and pull 40-50 pounds regularly
- Availability to meet overtime demands, including occasional work on weekends and holidays
