Job Summary
The Contract Packaging Engineer for Sterile Disposables in Radiology Device R&D will play a crucial role in developing new and innovative packaging solutions for the Medical Device Sterile Disposable portfolio. This position will involve leading engineering efforts in new product R&D, focusing on packaging ideation, customer preference testing, development, and verification. Working within a cross-functional team, including design, manufacturing, quality, regulatory, and program management, the individual will drive packaging innovation to meet customer needs effectively.
Responsibilities
- Support or lead the design, development, and implementation of new sterile disposable packaging designs for radiology and cardiovascular medical procedures.
- Participate in product ideation to create sustainable solutions that align with customer preferences.
- Utilize CAE tools like CAD, FEA, Moldflow, and CFD to develop and analyze packaging designs.
- Conduct testing in an R&D lab environment to validate concept packaging designs and ensure compliance with standards.
- Generate design history file documentation throughout the packaging development process.
- Create and modify SD packaging designs using CAD software such as Pro Engineer and CREO.
- Drive cost-effective design thinking while focusing on customer-centric solutions and product differentiation.
- Collaborate with various functions to ensure project deliverables align with organizational objectives.
Skills
- B.S degree with 2 years of experience in Mechanical or Packaging Engineering; M.S degree preferred.
- Familiarity with disposable product usage and engineering design influencing packaging.
- Basic understanding of medical device regulated design control processes.
- Strong stakeholder analysis skills for effective collaboration with internal and external customers.
- Experience in new product development or production engineering with Design for Manufacturing solutions.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, creativity, and interpersonal communication skills.

- Proficiency in regulatory standards applicable to medical device development.
