PURPOSE
This position is crucial for performing software development of medical devices, ensuring the delivery of high-quality products that meet or exceed customer expectations and comply with FDA design controls. You will be involved in all aspects of the product development lifecycle, from requirements to delivery, within an agile scrum framework. You'll work closely with Bayer product managers and various cross-functional teams to deliver world-class solutions to Bayer customers, designing and developing high-quality medical devices that exhibit excellent performance, meet product requirements, and exceed customer satisfaction.

PURPOSE
This position is crucial for performing software development of medical devices, ensuring the delivery of high-quality products that meet or exceed customer expectations and comply with FDA design controls. You will be involved in all aspects of the product development lifecycle, from requirements to delivery, within an agile scrum framework. You'll work closely with Bayer product managers and various cross-functional teams to deliver world-class solutions to Bayer customers, designing and developing high-quality medical devices that exhibit excellent performance, meet product requirements, and exceed customer satisfaction.
Your Tasks And Responsibilities
- Bring fresh ideas and approaches to design and develop innovative solutions in medical devices;
- Evaluate design choices, prototype new technology, and implement technical solutions;
- Understand product and software requirements to design and improve customer value;
- Deliver scalable architecture designs and code;
- Design and implement software for embedded devices;
- Identify opportunities for developing new and better solutions;
- Participate in code and design reviews;
- Develop technical documentation to accurately represent application design and code;
- Ensure development initiatives comply with Bayer Standard Operating Procedures and meet regulatory standards such as FDA 21 CFR 820.30, FDA Cybersecurity in Medical Devices, and IEC 62304;
- Collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams across multiple geographies;
- Manage work activities to meet given objectives.
- The primary location for this role is Indianola, PA.
- Visa sponsorship may be offered for this role.
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Electronics, Electrical Engineering or a related field;
- Strong understanding and working knowledge of software engineering, including all phases of SDLC;
- Proficiency in software development processes, object-oriented design and analysis, software architecture, and data structure;
- Expertise in programming languages and frameworks like C , C#, ASP.NET, and Python;
- Working knowledge of operating systems such as Windows and Linux;
- Familiarity with tools and technologies including GitHub, Jira, Confluence, Artifactory, SonarQube, and CI/CD GitHub pipelines;
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree and 0-2 years of related Software Engineering experience (through internships or co-ops).
