Job Summary:
Current Position Opening
• Evening shift from 2:45 pm –11:00 pm on weekdays. (M-F)
• Periodic work on weekends from 7 am – 3 pm, typically 2 weekend days / month.
This position plays a crucial role in the Formulations laboratory by conducting routine testing on samples to provide analytical data for process control, quality control, and process development.
Responsibilities
- Independently conduct routine analytical testing to support Formulation production plants, potentially working various shifts including weekends and holidays.
- Prepare and analyze samples using a variety of physical analytical techniques and sophisticated equipment such as pH meters, viscometers, rheometers, auto-titrators, and laser particle size analyzers.
- Operate STARLiMS Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and other instrument-specific software systems effectively.
- Research test methods and specifications in databases to complete analyses accurately and promptly record, calculate, and report analytical results.
- Maintain records to meet internal requirements as well as ISO 9001, 14001, and 18001 standards.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain cleanliness in the laboratory while handling supplies, preparing solutions, and disposing of waste.
- Follow instructions diligently and be knowledgeable about RCRA hazardous waste regulations for waste management.
- Collaborate with Formulation operators, team members, and management to enhance productivity.
Skills
- High school diploma with chemistry and algebra coursework or college-level chemistry and algebra with some laboratory experience; alternatively, a BS degree in a science discipline without prior laboratory experience.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail is essential for accurate testing procedures.
- Ability to multitask efficiently and prioritize workload effectively.
- Team player with good interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in computer applications like Excel and Word.
