Veg Market Development Representative North Coast California for San Juan Bautista, CA to lead planning of field-based applied research to optimize development & application of agricultural products to meet customer needs; develop, execute & improve strategic field trial and research plans; use technical knowledge of crop production, entomology & pathology to support sales efforts, field-based applied research, and agronomic knowledge transfer to customers; organize & deliver technical training to internal & external stakeholders and customers; develop analytics tools to facilitate transference of product & agronomic knowledge to customers; maintain relationships with industry experts to inform product recommendations & market insights; mentor internal stakeholders to address product performance knowledge gaps. Requires Master’s in Plant Science, Agronomy or closely-related field & 4 yrs experience working in an agricultural product development, consulting, production and/or field research environment: analyzing & interpreting field and/or research data to provide data-driven recommendations for lettuce, spinach & brassica production based on field trial and/or research project results; designing & executing technical protocols for research studies in vegetable crops, including lettuce, spinach & brassica; identifying & leveraging new technologies to improve the quality of data collection & agronomic knowledge transfer to internal and/or external customers; developing technical content for & delivering trainings on lettuce, spinach & brassica products and/or processes; coordinating agronomic field events for internal & external customers; and developing strategic territory sales plans to drive demand generation & achieve sales and budget objectives. Will also accept Bachelor’s in said fields & 6 years progressive, post-Bachelor’s stated experience. Position requires day trips to unanticipated sites within North Coast California Region up to 60% of the time and an additional 10% overnight domestic travel to unanticipated sites within the U.S. Salary Range: Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $115,000.00 to $150,000.00. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant).
