What are the responsibilities and job description for the Life Skills Coach for Youth with Special Needs Part-Time position at Bayes Achievement Center Inc.?
Teaching Parents provide care, educational/life skills training, and supervision to students with special needs in teaching homes and classroom settings. Positions are part-time 3 days/week which include holidays and weekends. Shifts would be either 6:00am - 4:00pm or 4:00pm - 10:00pm, working at least 1 school day shift, 1 weekend shift. Teaching Parents serve in the following capacities:
Assist classroom teacher in implementation and evaluation of student educational goals
Monitor and assist clients with self-care
Effective problem solving and problem sensitivity acumen
Develop and schedule activities that lead, encourage, and develop the clients' independence
Qualified candidates must be at least 21 years old and should possess excellent communication skills, patience, a positive attitude, flexibility and have a passion for helping youth. Candidates must be able to exercise effective decision making and take initiative in a fast-paced environment. Candidates should also be a self-starter who excels in a dynamic environment that requires working effectively individually or as part of a team.
Starting pay for the position is $17 per hour. Other benefits include 401(k) Profit Sharing Plan upon eligibility.
