What are the responsibilities and job description for the Meal Site Facilitator-Barnes position at Bayfield County, WI?
Description
To set up and take down tables and chairs, serve meals, clean up and arrange education and social programming, as appropriate for consumers of the Elderly Nutrition Program. This position will work out of the Barnes, WI Meal Site, approximately 3 hours per week on Thursdays from 11am to 3pm.
Examples of Duties
A. Receive prepared meals, heat to required temperatures and serve at the meal site.
B. Wash and clean meal site dishes, utensils, pans, tables, etc.
C. Register all new participants and review registration to ensure completeness, accuracy and eligibility.
D. Schedule/arrange educational and social activities at the site as approved by supervisor.
E. Schedule/arrange for a replacement for temporary absences (vacation, sick days, etc.).
F. Monitor meal recipients for changing conditions and report to supervisor conditions that may indicate a decrease in functioning or an increase in risk including but not limited to elder abuse, depression, and alcoholism.
G. Monitor quality of meals and report concerns to supervisor.
H. Maintain accurate daily attendance records.
I. Distribute to and collect quality assurance surveys from consumers.
J. Collect and deposit consumer contributions as directed.
K. Keep accurate data and records and submit as directed.
L. Plan meal preparation and/or service to be as efficient as reasonably possible.
M. Request meal supplies when needed.
N. Inform supervisor of any problem.
O. Observe all county vehicle regulations and safety requirements.
P. Complete required incident reports.
Q. Participate in job related trainings as required.
R. Follow proper sanitation techniques when preparing food (e.g. use of gloves, hand washing, proper use of cutting boards).
S. Set up and take down tables and chairs used for meal participants.
T. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
A. Food preparation experience.
B. Valid Wisconsin driver's license.
C. Willingness to work a varied schedule.
D. Customer service experience and/or experience working with the elderly.
E. Obtain Serving Safe Food certification within one year of hire.
Supplemental Information
- Ability to lift and transfer food related equipment and product, maximum 25 pounds.
- Navigate in and out of buildings, up ramp, between tables, within kitchen and dining area.
- Communicate effectively with staff, participants, volunteers and vendor.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time, while preparing food.
