- Ensure FFA is an integral part of the instructional program and serve as the advisor for the local chapter.
- Plan and support students in district, regional, state, and national cooperative FFA activities.
- Assist students in selecting SAE programs that align with their interests and abilities.
- Maintain accurate records and help students manage required documentation.
- Facilitate student participation in work-based learning experiences by locating and coordinating training opportunities.
- Conduct supervisory visits during the school year and summer months to monitor student progress.
- Oversee lab classroom activities for students engaged in supervised agricultural experiences.
- Prepare and submit FFA rosters, entries, registrations, and other required documentation to local, district, regional, and state offices promptly.
- Maintain accurate files of all records related to the agriculture program and student activities.
- Serve as a liaison between the Agricultural Advisory Committee and the district board and administration.
- Participate in Agricultural Advisory Committee meetings.
- Use newsletters, social media, and other communication methods to inform parents, staff, and the community about program activities and progress.
- Maintain membership in professional organizations and participate in professional development workshops and in-services.
- Ensure proper arrangement and maintenance of the classroom, shop, and lab spaces.
- Coordinate repairs and maintenance of tools and equipment.
- Order and manage new equipment and supplies within the program’s budget.
- Establish and monitor procedures for maintaining clean and organized facilities and grounds.
- Teach and enforce lab safety protocols, ensuring safety items and equipment features are functional and accessible.
- Conduct an annual inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies, submitting documentation to administration.
- Supervise students at off-campus events such as conventions, contests, workshops, and field trips related to the agriculture program and FFA.
- Ensure student safety and compliance with school policies during travel and participation in external events.
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree
- Colorado Teaching License with endorsement

OVERVIEW
Bayfield High School is seeking a full-time Agriculture Education Teacher. A teacher in the Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources Cluster must perform various duties to facilitate a successful program. The teacher is responsible for organizing and conducting an instructional program that will:
A. Improve the quality of Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources education instruction, counseling, management, and leadership to ensure success for all students.
B. Use effective strategies for integrating academic and Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources education.
C. Contribute to the educational objectives of the public-school system by providing students with information on career pathways, guiding them in developing necessary skills for continued education and employment.
D. Provide students with equitable educational experiences leading to career preparation, continued education, and employment opportunities.
E. Enhance youth leadership and incorporate FFA as an integral part of the instructional program.
F. Equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to compete in a global economy.
G. Foster agricultural literacy and inform students about agriculture's role in society.
