Position Summary
Orlando Health is seeking a full-time Employee Assistance Program Counselor in the Tampa, FL area.
The incumbent will provide short-term counseling and/or referrals for team members of Orlando Health and for the family members who live with them, for issues affecting job-related performance and personal well-being. The EAP Counselor will also evaluate and recommend outside treatment and counseling, if necessary.
Schedule: Tuesday – Saturday
Hours: 8:00am – 5:00pm with two (2) set days per week to be 11:00am – 7:00pm

Responsibilities
- Provides short-term counseling to team members either in-person, telephonically, or via telehealth.
- Meets on a one-on-one basis with client or in a small group with family members.
- Evaluates and recommends outside treatment and counseling, if necessary, making appropriate referrals.
- Facilitates critical incident stress debriefings following a crisis.
- Handles crisis phone calls from EAP clients.
- Responds to needs for EAP guidance from HR or leadership as needed or if manager is not available.
- Maintains client records in a timely, appropriate, and confidential manner.
- Provides summary data on cases, to be used for reporting on client volume, sources, and themes.
- Provides occasional presentations regarding EAP services or other behavioral health topics as schedules allow.
- Attends all EAP staff meetings.
- Keeps manager apprised of all issues needing attention.
- Helps maintain current list of behavioral health resources for clients.
- Maintains regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies.
- Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
- Completes all mandatory education as required by Orlando Health.
- Maintains current licensure and all required CEs.
- Works on goals that are pertinent to the EAP mission.
Qualifications
Education/Training
Master’s Degree in Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work, or Marriage and Family Therapy is required.
Licensure/Certification
Licensed by the Florida Department of Health as Licensed Mental Health Counselor, or Licensed Clinical Social Worker, or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. License renewed bi-annually in March.
Experience
Four (4) years direct clinical experience in a variety of areas, but not limited to, psychotherapy for adults, children, and adolescents, marital and family issues, chemical dependency, grief, and work-related issues.
