Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Bayhealth. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care, working independently and in collaboration with physicians to diagnose and treat a wide range of medical conditions.
Responsibilities:
- Prescribe pharmaceuticals according to patient needs, taking into account age, chronic medical conditions, allergies, drug interactions, and duration of therapy.
- Perform routine and specialty physical exams, documenting specific age-related preventative health screenings.
- Educate and counsel patients to promote wellness, addressing and providing resources for health risk behaviors.
- Interpret diagnostic tests for patients, providing appropriate referrals or consultations.
- Perform technical and surgical procedures as necessary.
- Manage workers' compensation cases, reviewing full work-related incidents and prescribing appropriate plans of care.
- Uphold the professional code of ethics and maintain current licenses/certifications.
- Participate in other duties as assigned within the scope and range of job responsibilities.
Requirements:
- Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program/university with a Master's Degree in Nursing.
- Possess a Nurse Practitioner certification, including Controlled Substances Registration and Basic Life Support.
- No experience is necessary, but three years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner in a specific area of practice is preferred.
