Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Opportunity - Erie, PA
Facility: Pennsylvania Soldiers and Sailors Home
Location: 560 E 3rd St, Erie, PA 16507
Contract Duration: 6 months and ongoing
Shifts: 2nd shift (3:00 PM - 11:00 PM / 2:45 PM - 11:15 PM)
Pay Rate: $48/hr
Schedule: Every other weekend and assigned holidays required
Minimum Qualifications:

• Local Candidates Only: Local can directly apply.
• If Travel candidates wish to apply they should have their recent fingerprint documents from the Pennsylvania Department of aging ready for submission, as this is a key part of the onboarding process for travelers as the client looks forward to an early start date.
• Licensure: Requires a current Pennsylvania License for Practical Nurse or eligibility to sit for the Practical Nurse Licensure Examination.
• Skills: Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office. Ability to enter health data into electronic medical records.

Role Description:
Join our team as an LPN at the Pennsylvania Soldiers and Sailors Home, where you'll play a crucial role in the care and treatment of individuals with mental or physical injuries, illnesses, or developmental disabilities. Your responsibilities will include:

• Patient Care: Implementing nursing care plans, preparing and administering medications, and observing and reporting changes in patients' physical and emotional behavior.
• Medical Procedures: Taking vital signs, collecting specimens, and maintaining progress notes. Participating in the overall treatment program, including habilitation and rehabilitation activities.
• Supervisory Duties: Overseeing unlicensed personnel and ensuring the maintenance of prescribed treatments. Requesting professional evaluation or emergency care as needed.

You will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Physician and be expected to perform nursing duties that align with established standards and regulations.

• Airway insertion
• First aid
• Catheter insertion and care
• AED usage
• IV therapy and medication administration
• Administering oxygen and injections
• Documenting medical procedures and maintaining patient records
