Sterile Processing Technician

Now Hiring: Sterile Processing Technician (SPT)
Location: 1001 South Oyster Bay Road, Bethpage, NY 11714
Shift: 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM
Pay Rate:

• Local Candidates: $38/hr

• Travel Candidates (50 miles): $15/hr on W2 $1,050 weekly

Equipment & Systems:

• Equipment: STERIS Washers, Autoclave

• IT System: SynergyTrak

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift/carry 25 pounds.

• Manual dexterity: ability to stand, bend, lift, and reach for extended periods.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Sterile Processing Technician (SPT).

• Active CRSCT certification.

• Active BLS certification.

• COVID vaccination card.

• Two supervisor references at the time of submission.

Job Responsibilities:

• Rotate through all areas, including decontamination, requiring extended standing periods.

• Disassemble, clean, sterilize, reassemble, and package sterile supplies per manufacturer instructions and protocols.

• Operate washers, sterilizers, ultrasonic machines, heat sealers, and other equipment.

• Adhere to instrument count sheets for surgical sets and case carts.

• Retrieve used trays, instruments, and equipment from surgical and clinical hospital areas.

• Examine instruments for cleanliness, assembly, and functionality; report any malfunctions.

• Assist with ordering, stocking, and maintaining inventory levels.

• Perform duties to maintain a contaminant-free environment.

• Follow all facility guidelines, including attire and cleanliness standards (scrubs provided, laundered at the facility)
