PART-TIME ELD INSTRUCTIONAL AIDE
Reports to: Building Principal and Director of English Language Development
RESPONSIBILITIES
The ELD Instructional Aide will support multilingual learners by collaborating with classroom teachers and administrators to provide language development assistance across a range of proficiency levels. The majority of this role will involve pushing into general education classrooms at the junior high and high school levels to assist English Learners in accessing content and building their academic language skills. This position plays an important role in helping students succeed both linguistically and academically in an inclusive environment.
QUALIFICATIONS

- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of students at varying proficiency levels.
- Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with teachers, staff, and families.

III. FUNCTIONS
- Language Support in the Classroom:
- Provide in-class assistance to English Learners, helping them access content and participate in instruction.
- Collaborate with teachers to scaffold assignments and adjust instruction based on students’ language levels.
- Offer targeted support for vocabulary, reading comprehension, writing, and speaking tasks during class.
- Assessment and Progress Monitoring:
- Support the collection and review of language proficiency and academic data.
- Assist with assessments and documentation of student progress.
- Help identify students who may benefit from additional language support.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with classroom teachers, ELD Director, and support staff to align strategies and interventions.
- Maintain ongoing communication with teachers and families to support student growth.
- Professional Growth:
- Stay current with ELD strategies and support through professional development and collaboration.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain records related to student progress and classroom support.
- Provide input for reports or updates on student performance, as needed.
