What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN Supervisor - Part-Time Nights position at Bayley Senior Care Corp?
Administrative duties
1. Responsible for the general morale of all staff. Provides a quality work environment through teaming principles, effective team leadership, and a demonstrated positive attitude.
2. Participates and/or approves the hiring, discipline, development, and evaluation of personnel. Takes into consideration recommendations from the Charge Nurse.
3. Proactive in the development, maintenance, and updating of policies and procedures governing day-to-day nursing functions and Departmental services.
4. Responsible for the daily supervision of nursing personnel. Accountable for team productivity and the timely completion of delegated work assignments in accordance with acceptable nursing standards.
5. Develops and maintains a positive working rapport with inter-departmental and cross-functional personnel. Promotes the campus philosophy and interfaces with all levels of management.
6. Promotes excellent communications by conducting meetings with designated shift members on a routine basis. Responsible for enhanced communications and services through the identification and correction of deficiencies via continuous improvement techniques. Serves a mentor to all nursing staff.
7. Ensures nursing personnel comply with established departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the training of personnel in fire safety, disaster preparedness, and procedures for reporting hazardous conditions.
Nursing duties
1. Performs daily responsibilities by effective team leadership, delegation of duties, and primary nursing duties as required.
2. Responsible for the accuracy and timely completion of medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, documentation, etc., as necessary.
3. Proactive in the development, maintenance and implementation of quality assurance programs.
4. Participates in State survey inspections conducted by governmental authorities.
5. Maintains direct communication with the D.O.N., providing status updates on resident care, personnel issues, and other related matters through written/oral reports.
6. Remains current by attendance of applicable seminars and professional publications.
Requirements:- Graduate of accredited RN Program, BSN preferred
- Possess a current RN license in the State of OH, certification in Gerontology preferred
- Knowledge of healthcare management practices and State, Federal, and long-term care rules and regulations
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Knowledge of applicable Federal regulations, Medicare and Medicaid certification
- Experience in Clinical Nursing
- Previous supervisory experience in long-term care preferred
