Lead Facilities Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a versatile, experienced individual to lead our facility maintenance efforts. With a focus on excellence, we believe that our facility should perform and look as impeccable as the yachts we build. We're looking for someone who takes the same pride in their work as our team of nearly 100 dedicated boatbuilders and craftsmen.

As the Lead Facilities Maintenance Technician, you will oversee and maintain the systems that ensure our facility operates smoothly, safely, and efficiently. This is a hands-on role where you will not only supervise but also actively participate in the maintenance and repair of various systems and equipment. Your contributions will directly support our mission to build the best custom sportfishing yachts in the world, and your involvement in day-to-day operations is key to maintaining the high standards we set for both our facility and our boats.

Key Responsibilities:

Facility Systems Management:

• Design, install, and maintain critical facility systems, including:
  • Air compressor and ventilation systems
  • Industrial paint booths and vacuum pump systems
  • Mechanical door systems, fans, and motors

Equipment Repairs and Preventative Maintenance:

• Oversee maintenance of key equipment, including:
  • Marine Travelift, Hydraulic Trailer
  • Scissor lifts, forklifts, and boom lifts
  • Kubota vehicles and golf carts

Facility Security & Safety:

• Manage building security systems, locks, and fences/gates
• Oversee outdoor lighting systems
• Ensure hazardous material safety, including propane tank maintenance
• Maintain fire safety systems and assist with evacuation planning

Building and Grounds Maintenance:

• Perform repairs and maintenance to doors, windows, and the building exterior
• Oversee plumbing, HVAC systems, and light electrical work (e.g., lighting, outlets)
• Maintain general landscaping and organize all common areas
• Manage boat stand and block maintenance

Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years in facilities maintenance or a related field. Previous experience in managing large-scale facility systems is preferred.
• Technical Skills: Strong background in air compressor, ventilation, and industrial systems maintenance. Ability to troubleshoot and repair complex systems.
• Mechanical Expertise: Proficiency with maintaining and repairing heavy equipment such as travel lifts, hydraulic trailers, scissor lifts, forklifts, and Kubota vehicles.
• Hands-On Role: This is a hands-on position that requires active participation in maintenance tasks, not just supervisory responsibilities. The ideal candidate must be comfortable performing repairs, troubleshooting equipment, and conducting routine maintenance directly.
• Leadership: Proven experience in leading maintenance teams and overseeing facility maintenance operations with a focus on safety and efficiency.
• Safety Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of hazardous materials handling, fire safety systems, and building security protocols.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve complex issues quickly while maintaining high operational standards.
• Communication: Strong communication skills to work collaboratively with internal teams and management.
• Work Ethic: A self-motivated, detail-oriented individual with a commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.
