What We Are Looking For
Baylor University is seeking an Academic Video Production Manager to support the mission and vision of Baylor University and serve within the Library and Academic Technology Services Department. Serving as “Creative Director” for the team, this role is involved in every part of the creation process for the university’s academic video production service, from idea generation, to leading the creative team who executes the vision, scheduling and budgeting, review and presentation of the final assets, and feedback. Work principally supports the university's online and hybrid graduate professional education programs, but also includes video for research, institutes, centers, departments, and other non-credit coursework.
A hybrid work arrangement will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
A Bachelor’s Degree and five years of experience in media, journalism, business or related field are required. A Master’s Degree and five years of experience in media, journalism, business or related field are preferred. A combination of education and work experience will be considered in lieu of the required degree and/or years of experience.
Applications must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
Additional Required Knowledge and Skills
- Leadership experience
- Knowledge of video production processes, methods, equipment and systems
- General knowledge of video editing software and techniques
- Experience in budgets and Project Management, with ability to prioritize and multitask
What You Will Do
- Lead team of two Video Producers, one Studio Coordinator, and graduate student employee from Film & Digital Media Master’s program
- Oversee production services for Graduate Professional Education programs, with university-wide impact on student experience in and effectiveness of online coursework
- Manage $1m multicam production studio used principally for academic video production
- Meets with clients to identify opportunities for video to accomplish program or course learning objectives
- Equip faculty to use video effectively and incorporate video meaningfully in student learning experience
- Establishes capabilities for team and university standards for academic video
- Manages project portfolio, including evaluating priorities and responsibilities, and ensures projects are completed on time and with high quality
- Organizes processes and creative workflows necessary to utilize five in-house studios, and accommodate field and remote recording needs effectively
- Manages team’s studios and equipment including asset tracking, budgeting, upgrades, and repairs
- Research relevant industry trends and strategically develop services for our communities
- Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor’s mission.
