What We Are Looking For
Baylor University is seeking an Assistant Director of Student Support Programs to support the mission and vision of the University within the Paul L. Foster Success Center. The Assistant Director of Student Support Programs reports directly to the Director of Student Support Programs. The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for student success, particularly for transfer students, and will lead the strategic direction and initiatives for the Transfer Student Success program. This role also supports program managers working with veteran, military-connected, and first-generation college students. The Assistant Director will supervise two full-time staff members, potentially oversee graduate student workers, and engage regularly with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
A Bachelor’s and three years of relevant work experience is required. A Master’s Degree and five years of relevant work experience is preferred.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
What You Will Do
- Collaborate with the Director to develop and implement strategies that enhance student development and improve the overall experience for students within targeted populations
- Support the development and review of departmental and program budgets in collaboration with the Director
- Work with the Director to establish and execute departmental goals and vision
- Foster relationships with internal and external constituents to provide comprehensive support for university programs
- May serve as the primary departmental contact or supervise daily operations in the Director’s absence
- Supervise, train, and support two program managers focused on veteran, military-connected, and first-generation college students
- Contribute to the strategic planning for the department and specific program areas
- Prepare reports and update program data as needed to inform program improvements
- Assist the Director with the oversight of program budgets and authorize expenditures in the Directors absence
- Provide vision, leadership, and assessment for the Transfer Student Success program
- Lead the planning, development, and implementation of the Transfer Student Success initiatives
- Develop and maintain effective communication strategies to support university services for transfer students
- Manage the planning, implementation, and evaluation of various programs and activities, that promote and enhance the transfer student experience
- Collaborate with campus partners to support students from initial interest through matriculation and graduation
- Address public inquiries related to university programs for transfer students
- Ensure compliance with university policies, regulatory standards, and procedures
- Assist with special projects as needed
- Perform all other duties as assigned to support mission Baylor University
- Comply with University policies
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance
