What We Are Looking For
Baylor University is seeking a Director of Operations and Management to support the mission and vision of Baylor University and serve within the School of Education’s, Baylor Center for School Leadership. The (BCSL) is seeking an individual who desires to engage in the thriving community of PK-12 school leaders through professional interactions, demonstrating a posture of lifelong learning, and modeling Christ-like character.
This position is responsible for ensuring that the BCSL’s operations and managerial aspects run as efficiently and effectively as possible. This position will oversee the day-to-day operations and ensure the BCSL successfully meets its stated goals.
A Master’s Degree and three years of relevant work experience are required. A Master’s Degree and five years of relevant work experience are preferred.
A valid US Driver License with a clear driving record of at least two years is required. Applications must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
What You Will Do
- Support and participate in externally funded projects (grants and foundation)
- Cultivate and engage donors
- Facilitate educational relationships and partnerships in Texas
- Establish operational excellence by analyzing and designing processes, flows, and procedures related to daily operations of BCSL
- Communicate professionally and regularly with BCSL constituents
- Facilitate workshops and sessions addressing leadership development
- Report to and work closely with Executive Director of BCSL
- Seek and support funding efforts that support BCSL’s strategic plan
- Supervise and collaborate with staff, faculty, and BCSL-affiliated educators
- Ensure goals and objectives of BCSL are successfully operationalized
- Identify and resolve problems
- Make decisions benefitting and supporting work, stated goals, strategies, and policies of BCSL
- Communicate strategies to BCSL staff and constituents
- Experience in seeking, obtaining, and/or managing external funding (grants, foundations, awards, etc.)
- Able to travel to school campuses
- Proficient in Zoom, Google Suite of applications and programs, Qualtrics, Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel
- Attention to details with initiative and flexibility
- Strong organizational skills
- Effective written and oral communication
- Strong computer and Internet research skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well with all levels of internal staff, Baylor faculty, BCSL donors, and BCSL schools
- Ability to multitask and prioritize daily workload
- Sensitivity to confidential matters required
- Must be available to work evening and weekend events when necessary
- Ability to work under pressure, exuding a mature demeanor while multi-tasking in a deadline-oriented environment with accuracy and consistency
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team, as well as an independent contributor
- Ability to exercise good judgment and discretionary skills in determining when to act independently and when to consult with Executive Director
- Self-starter with positive attitude
- Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor’s mission
- Ability to comply with university policies
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance
