What We Are Looking For
Baylor University is seeking a Faculty Development & PhD Program Manager to support the mission and vision of Baylor University and serve within the Diana R. Garland School of Social Work.
Using knowledge necessary to comply with a complex system of university requirements for graduate programs and a high degree of professional competence and interpersonal skills to: assist the Associate Dean for Research and the PhD Program Directors; manage the administrative functions of these offices; and support current faculty as well as incoming and current PhD students throughout their tenure in the program.
A Bachelor’s Degree and one year of relevant work experience are required. A Master’s Degree and three years of relevant work experience are preferred. A combination of education and work experience will be considered in lieu of the required degree and/or years of experience.
A valid US Driver License with a clear driving record of at least two years is required. Applications must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
What You Will Do
- Organize and manage tracking systems and acknowledgement for faculty publications, conference presentations, grants, and achievements
- Support faculty with development opportunities, funding, other resources, and entering information into relevant programs
- Update and manage GSSW Faculty Guide
- Plan, organize, and implement all aspects of research related events, including scheduling, room reservation catering, materials, agendas, etc.
- Collaborate with Awards Committee to support faculty award nominations.
- Manage, plan, and provide academic advising and logistical support for PhD students from orientation and matriculation to graduation
- Assist GSSW finance staff with managing PhD budget processes, including stipends and payroll responsibilities
- Coordinate, design, maintain, and update the PhD section of the GSSW website and other channels of communication with GSSW Marketing and Communications and Alumni Services
- Assist Associate Dean for Research with various tasks including calendar management, correspondence, and communication as needed
- Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor’s mission
- Ability to comply with university policies
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance
