What We Are Looking For
The Instructional Support Technologist is responsible for educational and simulation technology as well as instructional design support for the Occupational Therapy (OT) Department, Physical Therapy (PT) Department and the Physician Assistant (PA) Studies Program. The role provides direct support for OT, PA, and PT while coordinating with Robbins College of Health & Human Sciences, university instructional support, and Information Technology departments as necessary. The position requires significant collaboration with faculty and students. Works closely with the OT & PT departments and PA program to ensure a coordinated approach to efficient/effective instructional design and instructional technology support. Coordinates with university support functions as required to meet technology support needs that arise within the departments. This position requires on-campus responsibilities and availability to work weekends and holidays based upon schedule requirements. Travel is also an expectation and requirement of this position. Hybrid work will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
A Bachelor's degree in Instructional Technology or Design and 1 year of relevant work experience in simulation operations is required. A Master's degree and three years of relevant work experience in simulation operations is preferred. A combination of education and work experience will be considered in lieu of the required degree and/or years of experience.

What You Will Do
- Oversee the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of audio-visual (AV) systems and technology within the simulation spaces to ensure seamless functionality during onsite lab immersions and other faculty-led activities
- Support faculty in the setup, operation, and recording of simulation scenarios, including video capture, playback, and live-streaming capabilities
- Provide instructional design and technology support for OT, PT, and PA faculty in the implementation and execution of online synchronous and asynchronous content
- Assist with instructional design and technology updates and training, technical support, and professional development for faculty and staff within the departments
- Serves as the primary point of contact for real time technology support during synchronous and asynchronous learning activities and online testing
- Provide direct AV and IT support to faculty and staff during onsite events such as lab immersions, simulated experiences, Level I Fieldwork Seminars, and hooding ceremonies to include video streaming/recording, onsite testing, synchronous sessions, asynchronous activities, and additional learning activities
- Keep up with current trends in instructional design and educational technology and make recommendations to faculty regarding use of new technologies to support student learning
- Assist leadership in planning, analyzing, and managing the AV and technology portions of the budget alongside other Instructional Support staff
- Interact with other University technology service providers on campus, such as Information Technology Services, Library and Academic Technology Services, Institutional Research and Testing, and Learning Design
- Supports coordination of task management between faculty and external University services for curriculum development and execution
- Assist the Lab Coordinator as appropriate in the assembly or movement of equipment
- Assist other Instructional Support staff with strategies to optimize the OT, PA, and PT use of technology and AV equipment
- Participate in Department community service projects as time permits
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations
- Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor’s mission
- Ability to comply with University policies
