What We're Looking For
This position specifically supports the mission of the university through leading the Baylor Athletics major gifts fundraising team and qualifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors and prospects for major/principal gifts in support of Baylor Athletics, and ultimately, Baylor University, as is aligned with the University strategic plan. It will also build and maintain relationships with Athletics staff/BBF/coaches to know and represent to the Advancement community at-large regarding specific areas in need of fundraising support.
A bachelor's degree and five years of work experience in fundraising or sales are required. A master's degree and seven years of work experience in fundraising or sales are preferred.
A valid US Driver License with a clear driving record of at least two years is required.
Must be able to travel outside of the state of Texas.
Applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States on a Full-Time basis.
What You Will Do
- Discover, cultivate, solicit and steward a portfolio of donors and prospects for major gifts to Baylor, especially for Baylor Athletics. This includes not only leading fundraising efforts that impact Baylor capital, endowment and current use success, but it also includes fundraising that impacts the external needs of NIL.
- Provide oversight to establish yearly measurable goals/objectives, related metrics for new gift commitments secured, proposals made, new prospects qualified, and prospect meetings held for the Baylor Athletics’ major gift team.
- Collaborate with Baylor Athletics’ leadership and the Managing Director of Development to develop strategic agendas, consistent with Baylor's and Baylor Athletics’ strategic plans for major and prospective donors.
- Collaborate with unit and regional development officers to help cultivate, solicit, and steward donors under their management that desire to give to Athletics.
- Assist, as requested by the Assistant Vice President for Principal Gifts, VP for Advancement, and the Vice President & Director of Athletics, with programs to increase giving to Baylor.
- Participate fully in University Advancement's prospect management, discovery/qualification visits, events and related prospect development programs in order to inspire trust, encourage creative thinking, and collaborate with other Baylor staff and volunteers to significantly increase major gifts to Baylor.
- Maintain working knowledge of an adherence to all NCAA, Big 12 Conference, and institution rules and regulations and communicate any possible infractions of such rules and regulations to the Athletics Compliance staff.
- Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor’s mission
- Ability to comply with University policies
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance
